Maleka Education Centre

Classes, coaching, a library and a computer training room, run by the Trust in Mumbai.

Maleka Education Centre — MEC — is the Trust’s own education facility. It grew out of a plain observation: children from the neighbourhood were enrolled in school, but had nowhere quiet to sit, no one to ask when a subject stopped making sense, and no way to touch a computer.

The centre answers all three. There are coaching classes for school subjects, a library that stays open through the day, and a computer training room where students learn the skills a first job actually asks for. Everything is run from the Trust’s own building, and there are no fees.
