A registered trust, run on service

Haji Amin Gadawala Foundation Trust is a registered public charitable trust based in Khar, Mumbai, working across India for the poor and deprived sections of the community.

Our Story

Charity begins at home — and then it grows

Charity is a word preached by every religion in this world, but the importance of charity in Islam is a beauty to know. A society can flourish only when its members do not spend all their wealth to fulfil their own desires, but reserve a portion of it for relatives, neighbours, the poor and the deprived.

Isn’t it remarkable that the solution to the problem of inequality — which a country like India has faced for centuries — was already provided 1,400 years ago through two forms of charity: obligatory and voluntary, called Zakah and Sadaqah respectively. Charity in Islam is not only a means to please Almighty Allah but also to multiply rewards on a scale of one to seven hundred.

As the saying goes, charity begins at home. Haji Amin Gadawala Foundation Trust decided to support the poor and deprived sections of the community. With time, the scale of that charity grew — and so did the mercy and support of Almighty Allah. Alhamdulillah, today the Trust runs nine programmes — scholarships, a school, a madrasa for girls, matrimonial services, ration distribution, women empowerment, medical aid, mass marriage and plantation. May Almighty Allah accept all our good deeds — Ameen.

Our Vision

To help out and reach every person who wishes to fulfil the sunnah of Rasool Allah ﷺ and marry, and to help the needy near and far around the globe — while making sure the privacy and integrity of each individual is maintained.

Our Goal

To enable people to take responsibility for the situation of the deprived Indian child, and to motivate them to seek resolution through individual and collective action — thereby enabling children to realise their full potential.

Need-based, not merit-based

We do not discriminate between students based on marks. Support goes to the family that needs it, not the one with the best report card.

No registration charges

Every service — scholarships, matrimonial registration, ration distribution, skills training — is offered free of cost to the community.

Privacy and dignity first

Biodata, medical papers and family circumstances are handled confidentially. Dignity is never the price of assistance.

Common questions

Who can apply for assistance?

Any deserving family from the community may apply. Each application is evaluated against a systematic set of criteria for the relevant project. The reach of our education programme extends throughout India, and assistance depends on the availability of the general fund.

How do I apply?

Three simple steps:

  • Message us on WhatsApp, or come to the Khar office.
  • Bring the documents listed on that programme’s page.
  • The relevant committee reviews your case on need.
Is there any fee?

No. No charges or fees are taken for filling forms, registering a matrimonial profile or shortlisting biodata. Every service of the Trust is free.

How is medical aid paid out?

The medical aid cheque is issued in favour of the hospital only — never in the name of the patient, Jamat, doctor or a private consulting concern. Reimbursement after discharge is not entertained, so please apply before treatment.
